Canary Wharf Winter Lights 2025

The ninth edition of Winter Lights, organised by the Canary Wharf Group, concludes tonight after a twelve-night run in East London’s finacial district.

The free festival, which I first visited last year, features twelve installations this year, from artists and studios across the world. A guided walking route takes you past all of the installations, starting at Westferry Circus.

These are the twelve Winter Lights pieces this year:

  1. Aj Vana Be by Benedikt Tolar (Czechia)
  2. Circa by Limbic Cinema (UK)
  3. Error by Vendel & de Wolf (Netherlands)
  4. Wave by Squidsoup (UK)
  5. Evanescent Droplets by Atelier Sisu (Australia/Peru)
  6. Stitching Light by Emergency Exit Arts with Ruhul Abdin & Oitij-jo (UK/Bangladesh)
  7. Artificial Humans by Atelier Haute Cuisine (Belgium)
  8. Mirage by Atelier Sisu (Australia/Peru)
  9. Bird Passing By by Luminariste (France)
  10. PORTAL by Lucid Creates (UK)
  11. Positive Spin by Liz Harry & Kazimier Productions (UK)
  12. Illusion Hole by UxU Studio (Taiwan)

My favourites were Wave (4), Error (3) and Bird Passing By (9).
